Best way to clean a broom and paint brushes
Best way to clean a broom is to soak it in a bucket filled with hot water, a little ammonia and soap suds. Rinse and let it dry before storing it away. Your old paint brushes can be restored to their former shape and texture. Stiff and dry brushes can be softened by being placed in a pot of boiling vinegar for a few minutes then cleaned with hot soapy water.
What you will need :
2 tablespoons salt
1/2 cup vinegar
1 quart warm water
Combine the salt , kerosene and water in a bucket. Place the brushes in the mixture and soak for 2 hours. If your paintbrushes have lost their shape try soaking the bristles in a water-soluble glue for several minutes. Reshape the brush and let dry. Rub the bristle tip over a piece of coarse sandpaper until they are the desired shape.
