Wobbly Chair and Table Legs
A good way to fix chairs or tables that wobble because of a short leg is to lengthen the short leg with wood putty. Place a piece of waxed paper on the floor and squeeze a small amount of wood putty onto the paper. Set the shorter leg on the putty onto paper. Set the shorter leg on the putty, pushing it down until the chair or table is sitting level. Let the putty dry completely before trimming off any excess with knife. File and sand the putty until smooth. Paint or stain the putty to match the rest of the chair or table. If the chair or table wobbles because one leg is loose, remove the loose leg and wrap the joining end with a small strip of nylon hose or thread. Apply glue, then press into position and let dry.
