How to Remove Carpet Stains?

Sponsored links

I'll never forget when my friend came over to admire my new carpet and promptly spilled some juice in it. I immediately poured club soda on the stain, let it set for a few seconds, and gently sponged it up.

Club soda is also effective in removing blood and alcohol from the carpet. Shaving cream, toothpaste and glass cleaner also apply to the spot and wash off with water.

If a stain has set, work a mixture of 2 tablespoons detergent , 1 quart warm water and 3 tablespoons vinegar into the carpet then dry. Brush grease or gravy stains with baking soda or cornmeal, leave overnight and vacuum.
